Yes I think you are right. It looks like a Friday decision. I don't think 5knots or 8mph winds onshore should be too bad but let's see on Friday.
If on the day it is choppier than we are comfortable with, could just have a quick mess around on the sea and a pootle up the river, but not ideal at all for those traveling some distance though.

Hi, XCW weather for Saturday in Christchurch suggest gentle breeze, with gusts less than 10 mph, and even some sunshine between 10 and 1. The BBC even seems to agree!

Windy.tv and the beeb both seem to agree. Light on shore winds, chance of light rain.
@sonny1 are you and I looking at the same site?
Metcheck says it will be fine. Have you put in Christchurch in new Zealand or somthing?

Travelling a fair way so ultimately will need to decide late on Friday if trip a goer.
Very changeable but hopeful based on latest YachtWeather forecast.
Tides, despite being springs, also looking favourable with double highs late am and early pm.
Despite being a 400 mile round trip for us, not averse to pootling around harbour, cruising up river or just nosing out into the sea if conditions on the day dictate.
It’s all boating after all.

Forecast still looking good for Tomorrow. Lightish winds and no rain. If conditions change on the day, I'm also happy to have a little run around close by.
What time is suitable for set off tomorrow as I know others have a longer drive.

Planning on getting to Mayors Mead by 9.00am latest to be ready for a 9.30am set off (or later to suit others)
As a numpty to these waters my thoughts would be to plan rounding Old Harry around slack water (high tides) by 10.45 out and before 14.30 back. Unless the local lads advise otherwise.
Off to get some boat juice and sort kit out this afternoon.

I'll get down about 9am so will be over to Mayors Mead for about quarter past.
Weather is still looking promising for the full trip!
