Good for me (us).
Not from this these waters so somewhat reliant on local knowledge. Apart from enough water to get in/out Christchurch harbour, only red flag for us will be wind/tide timings off Old Harry. Springs around the 26th so timing paramount…not likey those pesky overfalls in me little boat. 😬

There will be enough water around Christchurch Harbour as long as we are back in before 4 for sonny1's rib. Can be a bit choppy until round Hengistbury head but nothing too challenging.

No issues from Christchurch to old Harry's providing its not too windy or an easterly.

I hadn't considered the overalls but good point about the spring tide. Based on that. Maybe we should bring it forward to a 9:30 or 10am set off to pass old Harry's near slackwater at 11am. Only passed this point once and was an hour before slackwater and was ok. More experienced knowledge welcome here

An earlier start would be OK for an early lunch in swanage before heading back past the overfalls without issue hopefully.

Had a look at the charts. The overflows are worse on the out-bound (Westward) tide and that won’t really get going until a little after 14:00.
Given how these things tend to go, I would say get to Christchurch earlier rather than later. It always takes longer for everyone to get launched and sorted than you think it will and we can always potter up the river a bit if we are too early.

Hi - we'll be down around 08:30 with plenty of fuel. Happy to follow everyone's guidance as we are probably the novices here!

Oh dear that is not good.

I usually use met office or sometimes bbc. Met office is saying rain from 4pm on Saturday but likely to change yet! Hopefully it stays dry

The weather looks very changeable at the moment.
The BBC claims 8mph on shore winds and overcast.
Windy.tv says 5knots on shore wind, chance of rain.
I think this could well be called go / no go on Friday night at this rate.
Honestly, the wind bothers me more than the rain - you can buy decent waterproofs but you can’t stop the wind blowing up the waves!
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.
