It runs from Southsea beach out to Horse Sands fort. There is a small boat passage though the barrier, and another inshore passage only about 50 metres off the beach. Both passages through the wall are marked with red and green lateral buoys. The inshore passage is fun to go through being so close to the beach and has a depth of around 1 metre below Chart Datum.

Its around 8.5 NM so at 14 kts would take 36 minutes. I'd be allowing 40 to 45 minutes for a gentle cruise in a bigger boat or pushing it along fairly hard in a sib.

Weather is still looking good chaps :)
James still hasn't popped in to confirm coming along on this jolly so I'll be round to Calshot and launch with you guys for certain........ my end of the M3 is closed over the weekend to demolish a bridge which may or may not be an issue but I'll call you if delayed
See you there :drive

My boat is launched and gear loaded.
Im bringing a mate and his son along so have got a couple fishing rods too as he always wanted to try fishing. Wont fish for long just to give him a few casts etc and get a feel for it as he is in love with monster catches on tv.
