No rib im a darkside boater. I have a quicksilver 540 cuddy. I had a merc 50 and its was just not enough but the power from that 90 evinrude etec 2 stroke is phenominal i must admit for a relativley small engine the grunt is amazing. A guy in our yard has the same boat and an 80hp merc and it is twice the size to start and has nowhere near as much holeshot. 0-3000rpm on my out board rockets u right out of the hole and u can really feel the pull. Im not used to big engines so for me its fast but compared to most i know she is still a tiddler

Sounds nice, I got through about 10 different boats in the past before I took up Jetskiing back in '96 including a Phantom 18 with a Mercury 150 XR2 and a Fletcher Arrowbolt 21 with a Yamaha 175 so having just sold my 160hp Ski, the rib I've bought is just a starter and is a bit of a plodder but much more sociable. I will be working my way back up in size gradually. Look forward to meeting you Saturday :-)

Hi Kev that's great:-). Will you be coming via anywhere near Poole on your way as if you were, you could transfer your boat and kit into my discovery and come with me if you wanted to?

Thanks Paul thats a great offer, if I was on my own I would get up earlier and join you. Poole would be a small dog leg in the trip. With needing to drag Callum out of bed I think it would raise the level of challenge to something beyond me :thud

No worries the offer stands if you change your mind. Just thought it would be good to have a chat on the way :-)
