F-Ribs And Sibs - Inflatable Boat Community

I’m currently planning my next trip to Scotland and am considering a few days exploring the Small Isles, Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck. As this is a one man trip, I need to find a campsite with easy launch facilities. Having set up base-camp there I’d also like to wild camp on the Isles for one or two nights.

Ideally I’d like to be able to pitch my tent, park my car and inflate the boat as close to the launch spot as possible. As there’ll only be me dragging 120kgs of boat, motor and kit I need to pick my site very carefully.

Although there are quite a few campsites around Arisaig, none appear to fit the bill for an easy launch.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi Brerabit, there is free camping just down the road from Sunny Sand caravan park at Arasaig across the road from the golf club but it will be a beach launch i am heading there myself in 3 weeks.

Thanks @gratemaker although sanity has prevailed and on good advice I’ve decided my previous plans were a little too adventurous, I’m still planning on going to Arisaig just not as far out, so still looking for somewhere to park, pitch and launch.

Can you remember what the beach is like?
Shallow and firm with avoidable rocks I can manage, any thing more challenging is a struggle by myself.

Hi Brerabit, from what i remember it is a firm sandy beach there are a few rocks but the water is so clear you can see them, tho i never had my boat on my last trip other people did.
