Portavadie Marina
Hi guys, anyone used Portavadie Marina for anything? Planning another camping trip to Asgog bay and wanting to cut down on weight by buying supplies from Portavadie instead of lugging them for 20 odd miles across the sea ! What would etiquette be in this sort of situation, do you just arrive and find somewhere to park or should I try and let them know I'm coming ! Have tried phoning but to no avail. Thanks guys.

Re: Portavadie Marina
I have on occasions Redline ..but not too often. I just drive in.. fuel is on the right hand side and right at the back as you go through the entrance. I try to park at a pontoon well away from where the main yachts are..and pick one that's difficult for a big boat to get too. If I park in a wrong bit.. the staff will ask me to move it to a better place and they are friendly too.
Better than Partavadie Marina..and almost as close ..is the pontoon at Tighnabruach ..they have a long floating one that anyone can arrive and tie up on. Its provided free to attract folks to land and spend money in local shops and cafes.
Hope that helps.. enjoy your camping trips

Re: Portavadie Marina
Thanks Gurnard, used Portavadie twice on our last trip, wasn't as bad as I had imagined, quite straightforward, shop isn't the biggest but had plenty of tinned food, cereal, water etc, and ice cream for the kids ! Got fuel as well, definitely will cut down on the amount I need to carry for a few nights camping.
