Passions of mine

Post by philpot » 13 Feb 2015, 00:02

Apart from messing around in boats which I have done for over 40 years I have been a keen clay pigeon shooter for as many years along with fishing over a similar time scale. These three hobbies have consumed and a great deal of my spare time and of course money. Fishing and Fribbing are shared and make great bed fellows.
I suppose I am at my happiest when next to or on the water.

Never been clay pigeon shooting but I've got my name down for a go in March, a mate is organising it around his birthday.
Fishing and SIB'ing.. I'm new to both but thoroughly enjoying the bits I've done.
The whole water thing I've been wanting to get into after being on the canals as a kid with my dad, many a happy hour with him in the cabin cruiser we had, sadly missed but certain never forgotten
F-RibsAndSibs.Com.... :whistle
Because it's a big old WWworld out there

Haven't been clay shooting for two years now  but had been going with a few mates over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Had a shotgun license for 10+ years using a mates gun but every time I've saved up my penny's to buy my own gun somethings come up (kids school trips abroad etc) so never got one but who knows, maybe one day :| Then of course came along the boating, then that brought back the fishing and the rest as they say is history
As I've said elsewhere on here, it's been years since I'd been fishing but watching a few videos, digging out some old gear I had along with a little outlay I'm back out fishing and loving it :star

Where there is a will, there is a way.
When I retired I bought myself a new gun, well new to me, a beretta DT10. This is a gun I have longed for for a few years so I bit the bullet and lashed the cash but it will be the last gun, I just could not afford to buy another now.

Ooooh you lucky bugger you :!: :!:
I've shot with a few different guns of my mates and didn't feel comfortable with them but if I were to go out right now it would HAVE to be a Beretta :!:
I used an old intructors Beretta that was well and truly used but it still felt sweet and fitted me just right.
He said I could buy it but my mates talked me out of it being used so much :no but I wish I had bought it now as it just felt soooo right :thud
Oh well maybe some day

What did I say about not buying any more guns...........................it is as bad as boat/engines..................I have just bought my wife a new clay gun, cracking piece of kit from Italy, the EOS. It handles very well and a few pals are quite hacked off because they have paid more for their recent purchases only to find this one seems to shoot better than their own guns. Made me laugh anyway.

Now I have to stop BUT NO I have decided to update my air rifle to modern technology with this Walther Rotex

NOW I MUST STOP, NOW I MUST STOP, NOW I MUST STOP, NOW I MUST STOP, NOW I MUST STOP. Does that sound convincing enough ???

Phil

Yes :!: you really must stop :stop ..........however us boys and our toys and all that :whistle
Never heard of the EOS make before TBH but it looks nicely finished and if it shoots well then bingo mate ;-)
Your Rotex air gun also looks perfectly formed and a nice bit of kit 8-) I've a BSA Ultra Multishot and been very pleased with it but don't get the time to use it :(
Maybe when I retire fully I'll get 'plinking' again and also get my 12 gauge :|
