Re: Motorbikes
Mods
.... get em lads
I hated them ..I was a rocker ..although a pacifist one..if there was such a thing.
Yup..I scratched the motorbike itch in my youth too.. my favourite being my last bike .. the Kawazaki Z1100 shaft drive..in its day ..the fastest ..but not biggest ... as there was a Z1300 if memory serves me right. (The GPZ was not around then Andy)
I bummed my way round Europe on that beast.. living in a wee tent..no surprises there..the surprise being.. I had hair back then..on my head as well as in my armpits and palms of my hands.
Of course.. I loved mods even then..and a bog standard bike was just not me. ..hair or no hair
I guess Bat out of Hell is clichéd now..but it was still a relatively new Meatloaf album in those days. Halfords rattle cans soon made that bat mess on the tank... I had to be careful..no gravy powder that day.. a steady hand was needed.
I scribbled on it and put my mark on most flat surfaces..trying to keep a bat theme running round the bike. I got the lovely orange K&Q seat made for me.. and it was ever so comfortable.. I had to keep the bike touching the ton to stop falling asleep
The Vetter fairing stopped the wind dead..so I could even smoke while driving behind that big shield.
Makes me wonder why I gave it all up ... for boats you might ask ? Naw..for a stupid wummin and wee kiddie.. who didn't want to sit in a sidecar
Bike .. wummin and kid all gone ..long time ago
I guess we all change over the years.. now.. wheres em Mods gone ?

This is my Z1300 in some of it's incarnations, I owned the bike for 14 years until one day I could stand the sight of it no more.....
I do sometimes wish I hadn't sold it on, I clocked up over 250,000 miles on this bike...
As you'll see I too like to modify

Re: Motorbikes
Here is a photo from somewhere is southern France...I picked up the bint there .. and cos she said I looked cute..I married her..but it turned out..she was the cute one when she cleaned me out in later years. The bike was made for riding long distances ..the bint wasn’t as comfortable and proved only good for the short haul. Told me she wanted a four stroke..and I was only a two stroke.. whatever that meant ?
Better put the thread back on topic for PeterM though..me on some kind of moped in Bulgaria. Guy told me it was very rare and German thing ..but I cant recall what it was. Perhaps Zanderlap or some foreign name.. I could never understand the lingo
I always like the WHO and saw them in person a few times.

Lol.......
Here's my "Cute Bint" somewhere in France......
I'm starting to think we'll have plenty to talk about when we meet in September, But Martin tells me I won't understand a word you say!

Re: Motorbikes
Looks like I'll have ta get up into the loft and dig out the few photos I have of bikes I've owned over the years
Being Kwaka boys you'll no doubt know of Harris frames and tuners Moriwaki Kawasaki around the 80's
Mate of mine had a 900 and it was a true work of art which cost him £££'s even back then
....I'll try to find photos
Maybe we've already met at the 'Rock n Blues' or the 'Bull Dog Bash' or 'Farmyard Party' etc back in the day
One common factor tho.........cute bint = agent of the devil
