Halley Roberts Valve Removal

Anyone any tips for removing Halley Roberts valves without the correct tool,waiting on it coming...

One very important tip,
Make sure that you have it flat against something as the back ring isn't attached to the inside of the tube and will Fu@k off!
Then you have the job of trying to find it again inside the tube and getting it back into the right position so that you can screw the new valve in place.

Made my own tool. 22mm straight end feed copper fitting. With teeth filled out of it. Fits perfectly. Made it posh with a handle to.

What a great idea/solution
the plastic tool I've used was on the point of breaking or worse still, shearing the valve body
