I bought a Jighead mould off Fleabay and give it a try this morning. It's a 4 in 1 mould and makes 20g, 40g 70g and 100g jigheads. Easy enough to do, just set the mould up and pour in some molten lead.
A quick spray and stick on eyes with superglue.
When melting Lead don't pour it as soon as it melts, wait until it has a blue metalic sheen on the surface, then it shouldn't solidify before the mould is filled. It also helps if the mould is warm. And a BIG warning, make sure the mould is dry before pouring.
NB; for the safety concious of you out there, whilst dealing with the molten lead I wore safety goggles and heat resistant gloves, I also kept my arms and torso covered.

Very impressive Stray.
Those look great!
I use jig heads a lot.
They are deadly for pollock.
Like everything else they are getting increasingly expensive.
Out of interest how much was the mould.
I may well consider buying one .

Nice one stray
I'll get my old man one of the mould kits for his birthday.
He's always making lead weights and tying lures of all sorts.
It's a win win as I can blag the finished product off him once he's made them

Stray, quick question the hooks for the jig heads - did you buy them or did you heat them and put a bend in them as you did with the lures .
My old boy wants the mould but says the hooks are hard to find so is thinking of heating and bending them to suit.
