when i started boating last year i had no guidance at all and started by sitting on the wrong side and i have found it difficult (impossible) to change .now however with my new rib im going to have to do it ,no ifs or buts .so today ive made a new garmin mount and fitted it and left the old one in situ to use as a rod holder mount, also repositioned my tacho . so if i can adapt to sitting the right side i will also be able to see the tell tale, very important.

Apart from having the tiller comfortably at arms reach, being able to see the telltale and counteracting prop torque, after Brexit anybody found helming from the port side will be deemed to be one of those ‘Johnny Foreigner’ types and promptly deported.

i dont know which country would take me as im only fluent in bullshit, seriously though im probably going out next w/end again so will be able to try and sync my tacho. watch this space!

By telltale, are you referring to the stream of water that comes from the outboard?
