Hi Gang,
There's lots of unanswered posts on the forum of late, New members are posting but they're not always getting replies..
Much of that error lies at the admin teams feet, My time has been very limited over the last couple of years and the forum has suffered without doubt, However - A huge thanks to each and everyone of you that's managed to keep the place ticking over.
For the new members that aren't aware how the forum works, here's a few images explaining the burger menu system.
One quick click on the burger offers the drop down menu, here you can select your required viewing.

Hopefully this year the forum will get a spring clean and a much required update.
We could do with something to fire us back up on all cylinders, maybe a few get togethors will help.
For starters, Perhaps we need a new welcoming committee, or some new mods ?
Fire your thoughts through and we'll see what we can do as a group to get the place a bit busier again.
Martin

i had,nt conciously thought about the situation you have now brought up but you are right . newcomers must be a bit bewildered . historically we have relied on the same old faces to answer tech questions , we all know who they are , and thanks for it . however , the less tech minded among us should be able to say hi to newbies and welcome them in . thanks martin

To be honest this forum is so slow...... I wonder if it is worth carrying on posting

Definitely hard work these days.
We’ll soldier on though. Use it or lose it methinks.

It’s all about momentum.
If the forum gets static, people don’t post or look in anymore.
If people don’t visit and post, newbies don’t join.
This place doesn’t work without its friendly, helpful and participating regulars.
That said, if people don’t welcome newbies then newbies don’t re-visit and the forum slows again.
I’d had enough of all the Agro a few years ago when a large group took theirselves off following the words of a liar.
More fool me for not standing up and shouting about it, instead I thought it would all blow over, so I kept my silence in hope it would resolve itself. A crying shame as I lost some very good friends and great forum members.
Times move on though, the forum will carry on without them.
The forum took a back seat for me, Finding a house and moving took over my life, thankfully the regulars kept his place going.
Now I’ve a little more time to spare again, covid had settled and the boating season is upon us, hopefully we can light the fires on here again and get the forum a little more active again.
It costs me money to run this place, but out of respect to those that have put a lot of time and effort into it over the years, it’ll continue to run whilst those in here want it.
Whilst ever it has a pulse, it’ll keep running
Martin

Would also be a big help if Mod’s could approve new members posts a bit quicker. When new posts appear they are often a day or two old when we see them.
As an example just seen and welcomed a new member with an Elling. He also joined the other channel, presumably at the same time, where his initial queries have already been answered.

I feel there is a much friendlier tone on her that any other forum
I can't ever remember seeing a 'use the search' reply on here or the level of superiority that is in other forums. ( my engine is bigger than yours!)
Here you get well informed and written replies without a ton of sarcasm. There are no 'in jokes' at the expense of anyone or cliques.
Life isn't always about being the fastest, biggest or best or insta6 gratification in answers. Credit to everyone who posts to maintain the feel of this forum....
We tend not to have keyboard warriors here... ever seems to be happy to be who they are based on what experience or not they have .... which is ideal!
