i am thinking of buying a takacat 330 to take away with the caravan does anyone know what they weigh packed up i cant find any info .also i have a 5hp 4 stroke mercury and an 8hp 2 stroke mercury would these be ok there both short shaft but i have always found the mercury short shafts to be nearer 18 inch than 17inch being slightly longer might help reduce the ventilation folk seem to be having

thanks it was the second link i have been looking at i think i may drop down to the 300 as they are listing one in stock .i will give them a bell next week .they look good fun

have been looking on the internet and come across this Aqua Marina AIRCAT looks like this might be very good value for money .i just cant find much about it online just the official blurb from the importers a fantastic saving over the takacat though

Take a look at this thread. Had the same thoughts, took a punt on one of their small and very cheap tunnel hull (cat) sibs.

Not got it wet yet, bleedin lockdown, so no idea if it’s gonna be a bargain or a lemon.

Can’t take it back now though...just drilled a load of holes in the transom for wheels and sealed with yacht varnish.

well based partly on your apparent happiness with yours and more so the price differential with the takacat i have pre ordered an air cat 335 for £839 delivered . lets hope it does what i want

I’m gonna feel guilty as hell if these little boats don’t perform.

Must confess getting quite attached to our little Chinese pvc and air bargain whilst fitting a set of transom wheels we had going spare. Now sat inflated at full working pressure in a spare bedroom for two weeks with no hint of any loss.

haha dont worry this is just me get an idea into my head and its full steam ahead . there expecting these in stock end of April so ill just have to wait until then .tbh i was wanting something that i can chuck in the caravan that could be used with a small low power outboard and these sound perfect at 33kg and i have a 5hp short shaft will be just the ticket .if i want a bit of fun i have an 8hp 2 stroke
