Not at all matey,
This is a discussion forum allowing people to voice their opinions :thumbsup

Saying that, I'll stick to my Suzuki :clappy :party
Thanks Martin.

Nowt wrong with Suzuki. Reckon ours was the best 20 we’ve ever had...by a country mile.

Think the new kids on the block are worthy competitors though....just amazed it’s taken them so long to catch up.

So are we saying that my honwave, will have a similar problem with water splashing into the sib?

Is it a common issue?

This sibbing lark is more complicated than first thought

Regards
GT

I would say no. Nothing to be concerned about.

Those that have problems, generally it will be down to engine set up and trim. The only boat where it is a genuine problem is the Bombard Aerotec, difficult to resolve and sometimes nigh on impossible with some motor/hull combos.

Nowt to worry about with a T40. :thumbsup

The brand new efi Yamaha 25hp tipping the scales at 57kg is currently the lightest. Interestingly I think there is also a new Yamaha efi 20 based on the same 432cc block and the same weight...so heavy for a 20 but potentially much more torques with 100cc advantage over the opposition. Strange marketing by Yam methinks.
You need to see the bigger picture.
The market for these engines is not primarily SIB's.
These engines are more for hard boats, namely river cruisers, (Mostly operating within a speed restricted environment) where speed if not as important as torq...

This sibing lark is as complex as you make it. Some people seem to fiddle for ever trying to get it just right. Others of us just stick an engine on the back and go and play.

Don’t overthink it. Stick an engine on and if you have a splashing issue then deal with it then.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

I agree with Chris.. spend less time worrying about "what if" and just get out there and try different things. Sibling shouldn't be complex and stressful. It's about ease of use and enjoyment.. :thumbsup

I have the new Mercury 20Hp EFI with the fancy tiller and sharp design. Bought it from BMC. It also came with brand new Quicksilver 25l fuel tank and lines. Plug and play. Paired with T3.8IE2

Awesome looking outboard and very quiet.
