Johnson 15hp Short Shaft Outboard/NOW SOLD

Post by Redlinebuzz » 10 May 2018, 12:42

Hello all, hope you are all well.

Following what I've learned from camping trips last year I've come to the conclusion that the outboard I have just now is just slightly underpowered for the amount I need to carry, It's fine in calm seas, but a bit of a swell and some wind and it starts to struggle.
Added to that, one of my son's was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and we're still in what they call the "honeymoon" period where his blood sugar levels are all over the place, and I don't see me being confident enough with managing it on a camping trip in the arse of nowhere ! So this summer we'll probably give the boating a miss, the plan being to save up and get a bigger outboard for next year.

So rather than have this one sitting about unused for a year I've decided to try and sell it.

It's a 9hp that's been converted/upgraded to a 15hp, not by me, all I know is that it does the work that a 15hp should do.

It's never given me any trouble, apart from a break in the emergency stop cable, which strangely is not "fail safe", as in the bloody thing keeps running if the cable is cut ? Cable's been fixed and all is well.

Anyway, could probably do with a new prop, but apart from that, well you can see from the pictures.

Located just outside Paisley, Scotland.

Asking price £825.00, can deliver, within reason !
