Transducer position??

As mentioned before just got a Takacat ( no engine yet) and new to all this. Just looking at a Garmin vivid striker 4 and a way of mounting it, given I've no solid transome and having read loads on positioning and turbulence from hulls, engines etc, ive come up with a way of mounting to the side of the boat at the back end of the tube which I can extend a little away from the tube if that helps even more, does this sound like a good plan as moving through the water there would be no turbulence from anything ?
Ps... it will be on a swinging arm so can flipped in board at speed.

It sounds to me like you have considered all of the correct issues to get the best return signal so I would say yes go for it and try it out.
You can always move it.

- This is the mount ive bought to try from the USA looks simple and can swivel up from the water if needed. It is really well made.
