Garmin 55dv
It’s arrived & been playing with it before the wife confiscates it for Christmas, I have a 22amp battery which I use for my golf trolley & pumping up boat but it’s quite large & heavy so was wondering what you guys use & I suppose it has to be man enough to power the Garmin for at least 8hrs.

A standard house alarm battery should do you the day easy. I use one half the size and after 5hrs it had 90% power left.

Re: Garmin 55dv
Ps. I do take a separate battery to inflate the sib which I leave in the car and then keep the foot pump on board so the small battery is for the fish finder use only.

Re: Garmin 55dv
I use the same as Pritch, Mitch. I have two, one in my pump bag to inflate the boat and one for fish finder in a waterproof box.
I'm not really a Hobbit, just look like one. Real name is "Andy".

Re: Garmin 55dv
From experience a well maintained 7ah battery will suffice for a days fishing.
However like Jeff I like to utilise the engine's recharging capabilities.
More so over a long weekend
