Hi all,
I have a brig rib, 650 and want to install the Garming GT51 TH ( trough hull), and I have searched trough the net but cannot find anything.
Anyone here who has done it? Anyone who has it on his rib? Is there a way to install it through transom mount and still work fine?
It will be paired with Garmin EchoMap 92sv

Hi Outlaw, welcome to Fribs And Sibs
There are some guys with the bigger ribs and hard shells on the forum that will hopefully be able to advise you on the specifics of your query.
If you don't get the answer, perhaps try the RHIBs Facebook group. Many trade guys are members of that group so surely they'll be able to assist.

Hi outlaw, I've not got the same depth sounder on my hard shell, but I didn't like the idea of drilling through my hull to put the sender in, so I've got a unit which sits inside the hull and pings through it, we just fibreglassed it into place and it's been pretty good to be fair, cannot remember what make it is at this moment

I'm with Paul B as I don't drill anything through a hard hull unnecessary
I've a Lowrance transom mount transducer BUT it can also be bonded to the hull and give the same results
The Garmin GT51M-TH is the drill through hull you specify however I'd check that the other Garmin transom mount options available could also do the job bonded to the hull
Just my 2p

Hi guys. After having the system for more than a year, I must state that everything works fine. No issues, never had a problem with it, and a few times I beached the boat, but without the sensor touching the bottom... I thought might liked to know
