Borika transom bracket and telescopic transducer mount pole arrived this morning, looks much more solid than I was expecting for the price, added bonus is it has a second accessory port on what will be the 'top' of the transom mount so may use this to mount the gopro or a rod
holder.
Will try it on the boat as soon as I can get to the boat shed.

Re: SIB bow box and dashboard idea
Borika transom clamp wont fit over the transom on the Excel, the transom is too thick. WIll rethink the idea.
Bow box now finished except for some tinkering, fits perfectly in the boat, am going to secure it using M8 coach bolts up from the solid floor and large thumb screws for easy removal. Added some LED deck lights to the bottom of the front, thought some light at dusk or if camping may be useful.
Now working on wiring up the radar arch for the nav and anchor lights, and the VHF antenna. Good job I bought some cobalt drill bits, damn that stainless steel is hard!! Have decided to run all the wiring under the solid floor inside plastic conduit with waterproof sockets either end so the whole thing can be removes without trailing wires.
