Bravo Pump manometer not working

Post by LuremaniacSkye » 07 Jan 2019, 19:46

As per the title, my Bravo pump's manometer doesn't move thus I have to keep checking when pumping all the time. anyone knows where I could send it to be fixed or if its an easy DIY job?
Thanks

Not sure what the circumstances were when it failed but I did notice a very small warning in the manual of my BTP12 that says not to turn the dial counter/anti-clockwise while the needle is moving or it could damage the gauge. After analyzing how the manometer works I can see what they mean, it appears that the needle conducts electricity and the circuit is completed when it contacts the preselected pressure pin. Forcing it back would damage the sensitive pressure sensing clockwork. I wish they would make this a bigger warning to prevent such an easy mistake.

A quick check you can do - take the pump apart and disconnect the tube from the back of the manometer. Run the pump and see if you get air coming through the now removed tube. If you don't then it is probably blocked. Take the whole thing apart and clean it (I just had to do mine because the first stage wasn't sealing when the second stage was running, so it leaked like mad). If there is air coming through the tube then the manometer is fubar'd. Time for a new one.

Got it in September.
Thanks all for the replies. It might be that I did turn the dial the other way. cant believe it would be so easy to mess up.
Where would you suggest I turn for its repair/parts?

Back to wherever you purchased from, and invoke something commonly known as ‘the warranty’. :thumbsup
