Cheap alternative to a chart plotter.

My son got a Tesco Hudl for Xmas 2 year ago but has hardly looked at it.
Instead he hogs the wife's Ipad.
I've taken ownership of the Hudl and turned it into a chart plotter.
Purchased a waterproof cover and fashioned a mount to sit it on the sib.
Hudl is android and you get a cracking app called Mx Mariner.
It's free to download and cost only 4 or 5 quid for a marine map.
Cracking detail and easy to use.
Cheap alternative to a plotter.
I have it on an old Sony Xperia mobile phone as well - wouldn't be without it. :drive

Fish finder and plotter beneath. I run a charging cable to the bow box.
Inside the bow box I have a 12v cigarette socket and two 7ah batteries strapped down on a shelf - does the trick :P

Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune...
I run the Vexilar Sonar box on my ipad with the navionics UK maps. The sonar box has a built in reachable battery that lasts hours, that then emits a wifi signal for your ipad to connect to.
Fishfinder/sonar with gps maps... Brilliant :star
F-RibsAndSibs.Com.... :whistle
Because it's a big old WWworld out there

Nice one.
That's what sibbing is all about for me - having fun on the open water on a shoe string budget.
Hard to beat the fun factor relative to the pounds spent!
