Few outboard questions

Hi Brains
Thought I read somewhere that after a certain size (30 or 40 hp example) you are better off with electric start and trim - is this correct as they get awkward on the water to turn, trim and start etc?
Thanks

I think you will find that from 50hp up they are all electric start because they are just too big to pull over, even though they may have an emergency pull cord hidden away.
I have had a manual 40 hp , long time ago, you definitely had to get set up and plant your feet for a good tug to get that going.
electric trim hmmm no experience but would have thought up to 80 90 hp its more about fine tuning the ride for best performance rather than the inability to pull them up.
Mind you the 40 hp was a heavy brute and I could only just lift it on and off the transom in my 20's.
Would not even dream of trying that now.

Had a 9.8 2 stroke and that was heavy enough .
Sounds like electric start is best and thus its existence I guess - also easier for the mrs too.
Thanks
