Charging confusion

Post by Bigsofty » 22 May 2019, 22:28

I've been looking at buying a new 12v battery to power a bravo pump and to run any electronic items (fishfinder etc) while using the outboards (Honda 15hp) 6 amp charging circuit, then read this on a marine supplies website :Confused

DO NOT USE

MAINTENANCE FREE, AGM OR DRY CELL BATTERIES

WITH ANY MARINE RECTIFIER OR REGULATOR

OVER VOLTAGE CHARGING WILL OCCUR

RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO YOUR

BATTERY AND IGNITION PARTS
:o
What other types of 12v batteries are their?
Should I be concerned?
Will Thersa May still be Prime Minister tomorrow?
I'd be grateful to hear what the learned folks on this site know about this (not the Theresa May question, I think we all know the answer to that  )
:help
With sufficient thrust, pigs will fly just fine.
