Fed up , nothings easy now the transom wheels
Going to scream , just wasted just short of 200 on a set of transom wheels from pace the recommended ones,
I am suppose to drill a new boat ! To put these in , no instructions on the box either.
No guildence on the boat either as where they suppose to go...
Driving me nuts this boat and not even in water yet

There should be some posts on here with pictures showing where they fit, if you haven't found them later when I'm off this wee phone display and back on my laptop I'll have a look for you.
PS Try this one: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=2021&start=10#p21668

Re: Fed up , nothings easy now the transom wheels
Measure lots of times, and check the wheels clear both tubes and outboard on full lock in the upright stowed position. Also make sure they fit ok in the down position.
Then drill only when you are absolutely sure they are in the right place.
Use lots of sikaflex (other marine sealants are available) on the bolt threads and either side of the drilled holes as you need to keep all moisture out of the transom, otherwise it will rot.
It's not a hard job, you just need to measure lots and drill once.

Re: Fed up , nothings easy now the transom wheels
Rule 1... Don't rush. It's a simple methodical job and once you get into it you'll find it flows ok.
If you can get the boat sat on something to raise it off the ground, that'll help lots. You want the boat at the height you'd expect the launch wheels to hold it at.
I always recommend masking tape on the transom, it makes marking easier and stops you rubbing the marks off with your hot, sweaty stress head hands
Trap, Jam, clamp the wheel brackets to the transom in any way you can.. This will help you get the general location - check the wheels will sit just clear of the tubes in the upright position, but fit perfectly vertical whilst in downward position. If need be,, use a few small set tapping screws to hold the brackets in place.
Once you think you have them all straight and correct.... CHECK AGAIN !!!
If the wheels aren't exactly 90degrees to the boat whilst in downward position, the boat will waddle like Diane Abbot.
If they're not straight in the downward position, They won't fit correctly in the upward position.. They could foul the outboard going lock to lock, or they could rest and rub on the tubes.
As I say... Check Again.
Once you're happy, Drill the first hole. .. pop a nut and bolt in and check the alignment again !!!
And repeat !!
Dry fit everything for a start, then clean everything, make sure there's no sawdust, transom resin dust, etc... floating about.
Using a top notch marine sealant, Seal it like you'll never want to remove it. It's easy to remove, It's too late to seal it once your transom has gone rotten.
I did have some small video's from when I did mine (Now Kaman's T38i- the one in Rogers posted link)
I'll try and find them for you.

Re: Fed up , nothings easy now the transom wheels
Have a look at how others have fitted them to the same boat.
What type do you have?
I thought Honwave had to have the ones with the long bent arms? Rather than the universal types?
Once you decided measure 3 times! Then drill and fit with sealant as described.
It’s not as difficult as it is scary!
