SIB Boat Name Display Options

Post by Msami » 11 Jul 2018, 15:19

Hi All,

New member here and just got a Honwave T32IE and 6hp OB. My boating will be mainly on non-tidal Thames river and one of the boat registration requirements is to display the boat name on each side of the bow and on the stern.

Can any of the experienced members share how they went about displaying the name? Some research shows that flexible paints/stencils are better than vinyl lettering but have also read that removing the paint is a nightmare, which may be an issue if I ever want to upgrade and sell the current Honwave.

Is there any other way I can display the boat name? Maybe a laminated print out tied up on each side? :scratch

Suggestions, and if possible, any pics would be much grateful!

Hi Msami

See this thread:

I made my own stencils, not a perfect job but fairly acceptable.
I guess it could be removed using compatible solvent, which I used at the time with cotton buds to tidy the worst of the edge bleeds.
