Re: Honda Marine - Honwave Air Floor Range- (Quality Control Issues)
Hi all,
I have just last week ordered a T38 IE2 which is yet to be delivered. I hadn't seen these threads about quality control at the time of ordering so I am now slightly concerned. At least it has given me a good prompt to do a thorough check before using it!
Are people still having these issues? I haven't seen an issue reported in 2020 on this forum.

Re: Honda Marine - Honwave Air Floor Range- (Quality Control Issues)
They did seem to be getting better towards the end of last season, and due to lockdown no one much has been buying so far this year. Thanks for being a test case!
As soon as you can, get it blown up and take a look. A small amount of asymmetry make no difference; mine is very slightly wonky and it goes great.

Re: Honda Marine - Honwave Air Floor Range- (Quality Control Issues)
Recieved my T38 today. Had a good check around and to me seems bob on. One side of the keel looks a tiny bit higher than the other but i had to look hard to decide. its tracks straight so i cant see any issues. Very pleased after reading this thread.
Not 100% convinced by the wheels. im guessing you have to take them out and put them back in on the water to store in the upright position?
One thing i did notice that after inflating with my fairly new bravo pump and testing the pressure with the gauge supplied with the honwave, the pump pressure cut of was miles out. The tubes set to 0.25 bar were about 0.2 bar and the floor set to 0.8bar was about 0.5 bar. It wasnt a cheap pump either!

Re: Honda Marine - Honwave Air Floor Range- (Quality Control Issues)
Looking good there Ben.
That’s one of the best hulls I’ve seen in terms of symmetry....definitely a keeper.
Pressure gauges all read slightly different although admittedly that’s quite a big variation. One thing to bear in mind though, is the pump compressor heats the air up considerably whilst inflating. This quickly cools down so could be compounding the error readings. I’ve found the supplied Honwave gauges fairly accurate to be honest.

I’m with @harrison there! That floor is pretty darn good - keep that one!
The wheels are a compromise, design wise, but they make the world of difference: I couldn’t launch by boat without them, short of building it by the water at low tide and waiting for the water to come back.

That my friend is one of the best Honwave hulls i've seen for a long time, perhaps they've finally listened to all the gripes and felt it in the returns room at Honwave...
About bloody time too !
Great pics, The hulls as straight as anyone could/would expect.. Congratulations
Martin.

Floor looks spot on!
" Not 100% convinced by the wheels. im guessing you have to take them out and put them back in on the water to store in the upright position?"
That's right, there should be two sets of holes so you can remove them then invert them facing upwards. Be sure to use a good attachment method for the locking pins so they can't be dropped, it seems impossible to get replacements if you lose them! Mine are tied permanently to the transom towing eyelet rings.

Not had chance to test the boat out yet. Looking forward to it.
On the towing rings, I'm planning on clipping the outboard to them via a cable and carabiners, in the unlikely event the outboard detaches. If they are designed for towing I'm presuming they'll be strong enough.
