Re: Boat storage / sit on box.
The Igloo coolers are decent and very robust. They usually crop on offer at Costco if you have one near you?

Re: Simon from Bristol
Thanks for the warm welcome :-)
I'm not sure I can help much on the SIB front as I don't have one and my RIB is little on the large size and other than that I have some hard boats :-(
Anyway it's nice to be here.
Peter - its getting close to a Vintage - What motor is it?

Like Blootac says, fire in a bit of fairy liquid and that will help break it down and then drain it out.

Re: 1999 2 Stoke 15 hp johnson flush
Hi,
As its a small engine I would stick the business end in a bucket of water and run it up. Wheely bins work well
saves messing about with flushing adapters etc etc

Anyway I'm mostly a ribber and classic boat fan, I also posses an unhealthy interest in vintage outboards :D Always happy to help out and always up for a day on the water. Look forward to catching up with some of you soon Simon

Re: Merc 8hp or Merc 9.9hp?
8hp is carb restricted essentially a different jet size.
Keep any eye out on all the useful places and one will pop up for sure. So people are living in dreamland when it comes to valuing their outboards so haggle hard

Re: Merc 8hp or Merc 9.9hp?
Hi Andy
What year are the motors you are considering?
Typically the 8 and 9.9 are similar block size just different carb setup. If it were me I would put the 9.9 on the back as although it's a small power gain it will make a difference if you are loading up your boat or face punching a tide.
