Re: Borika Mounts for the Elling 350KB
Good to hear, Gray. I just ordered the non-telescopic version. I will probably mount the fitting on a piece of wood at first and use a g-clamped to fix it on the transom so I can find the correct position before drilling in the transom.

Re: Borika Mounts for the Elling 350KB
Hi Sibfisher and Gray. I am about to mount a transducer on my KB350. Are you still using your telescopic and non-telescopic arms today and would you done anything differently if you were to install the transducer today?

Re: Aarhus, Denmark
Hi Poulsen30 Welcome to the forum from a fellow dane! Great idea with the outboard rack. I looks a little bit wrong but I assume it is legal here in Denmark and why not - it is legal to carry two bicycles on the rack and they are about the same weight as my 8 hp 2 stroke Yamaha. Do you lock the outb...

Re: Age and shaft length on new (used) 2-stroke Yamaha Enduro E8DMH
I think I can lift it a couple of centimeters with a piece of timber. If I have trouble getting on the plane or with splashing I will try to raise the transom. I don't want the extension to be too bulky making the boat hard to pack so I have been looking at doing something like shown below. http://i...

Age and shaft length on new (used) 2-stroke Yamaha Enduro E8DMH
Hm, so I might have done something foolish. I bought a Yamaha Enduro 8 hp (E8DMH). It is a short shaft outboard but the shaft is longer than the transom on my boat so the cavitation plate sits 5-6 cm below the bottom of the boat... I'm glueing some stuff on my boat so I haven't had a chance to test ...

Re: What to look for when buying 2-stroke outboard?
Actually this dealer has a Yamaha 8 hp, 2 stroke, short shaft (about half way down on the site):

Do you have any clue how old it might be and does it matter much if it is in good shape?

Re: What to look for when buying 2-stroke outboard?
Yea, I can read that a long shaft on a short transom is definitely not ideal. I don't see a lot of 8 hp 2 strokes from the early 2000's for sale though but I'm not in a rush.

Re: What to look for when buying 2-stroke outboard?
Thank you both for the advice. The outboard turned out to be a long shaft so I didn't buy it even though the seller insisted it would be fine with my Zodiac.

What to look for when buying 2-stroke outboard?
I found a 8HP 2-stroke Tohatsu M8B from 2004 for sale not far from where I live: https://www.dba.dk/tohatsu-paahaengsmotor-8-hk/id-1070032752/ I talked to the seller and he seems like an honest guy. He has been using the outboard for approximately 2x15 minutes, 30 times a year, leaving and entering ...

Haha if that was the case I probably wouldn't have know there was a problem.
