Re: Camping/Caravan sites Devon/Dorset

Yup, went to Watermouth this weekend and they are closed already, have to try and find out if the slip will be open through the winter.

Combe Martin Bay 8-8-15

High tide at about 1300 so we launched from the beach at about 11-30 and headed for Greater Hangman and Copperas Rock Buoy, fished on the drift with feathers and soft lures but nothing showed, we then anchored for an hour or so and got the usual mix of Pout and Doggies until my Son in law had a very...

capstan point ilfracombe

Well, tried again for the mackeral, still not in :( but we had the most amazing experience with a school of porpoises, they deliberately followed us around playing right by the bow as we motored around, diving under one side and jumping out of the water on the other side, must have been about 6 with...

Re: Combe Martin Bay

Perfect explanation :D By the way, launched tonight from Ilfracombe to see if the Mackerel have turned up yet, they haven't :D Bit of a scare though, managed to get my braid tangled around the prop :( stalled it in no time flat :o fortunately managed to untangle it but a lesson learned for sure :D

Re: Combe Martin Bay

Forgot to mention that I was trying Circle hooks for the first time, every fish was hooked in the corner of the jaw, even the doggies, It was a nice change to be able to return fish that would normally go back with a hook in their guts, definitely something that I will be trying much more this summe...

Combe Martin Bay

Launched from Combe Martin bay at aout 12-30 on Saturday, high tide was 15-00, the weather initially was pretty good, just moderate swells so we headed out past Hangmans towards Copperas, the new fishfinder was working really well and selected a spot of rough ground a few hundred yards from shore, s...

Bloody Weather

Once again the wind has been howling here on the North Devon coast, we drove to Combe Martin this morning more in hope than anything else as the forecast was for slight to moderate seas with a WSW of 17 knots, no chance, very broken and choppy waves, we hung around for an hour hoping the wind might ...
