Re: Ranieri

Realised I've not been around the forum in a while. Seldom used the boat last year, can't remember any 'epics' lol but had a nice run to Eddystone from Salcombe on Sept 6th 2023. Encountered no less than three (!) separate pods of dolphins. No boats around until Eddystone which was like a boat park ...

Not much to be done. Happened to mine before I sold it. Gutting.

The other half is keen on a shiny
hard hull boat with nice seats, not convinced myself
Pull yourself together Ian it's the start of a slippery slope to the dark side. You'll be collecting old Fletcher hulls before you know it.. Lol.

Re: River and canal exploration boat?

Hi and welcome to the forum. I've got a 3.5hp Tohatsu with a 5hp carb and alloy prop and it works very nicely @ 18kg. Can't really plane on rivers because of wake, even displacement speed irritates some so maybe you don't need to suffer extra weight? Had an Excel 390 and Suzy 20 and it planed fine b...

Other than price: any reason you'd recommend against CT1???
CT1's silicon based, marine applications use Polyurethane.

Re: Rugged Launch Wheels - Fitting Advice

Welcome!
Someone will be along with wheel advice soon but I wouldn't use CT1. Purafux PU40 from Toolstation is 1/3rd price of Sikaflex and is the same stuff. Everbuild is owned by Sika.

Re: River and canal exploration SIB?

Tbh I don't think you'll be much better off wake-wise with any of the alternatives you are looking at. They're just blunt tubes displacing water and you'll never get on the plane within the speed limit. I reckon a solid hull's a better option, maybe with hydrofoil to give stern lift and lessen the w...

Yes 13 months old European bitch. She's solid, we eventually got another. Lost our 12.1/2 yr old one a few years ago.

Im Considering insuring the boat... I'm drawing the line at 3rd party dog insurance At that point I'm just going to take the financial hit lol
Don't need good recall on a boat lol
But might be a good idea if it ran off and caused a collision
