Would it be possible to copy the Keyhaven and forts posts from here into two new threads in the events section? These sound like two great trips for 2018

I’d suggest starting new threads to incorporate an arranged outing Chris rather than us copying content, it just gets confusing for members wanting to attend which post to reply to then.
For info you could always link to the page in question :thumbsup

If anyone is planning to holiday in the Wigtown Bay, Fleet Bay, Kirkcudbright Bay areas of the Solway Firth please do not hesitate to contact me.

I live almost on the beach at Fleet Bay from beginning April till end of October. My F-Rib 330 is always on the beach and ready to go. I am on the water most days either swimming, sailing, F-Ribbing, fishing or windsurfing, some days all of them. If we can't meet up on the water, because I am away on a trip up the west coast, I can at least direct you to accommodation, launch sites and places to explore. Sea conditions range from sheltered bays and tidal rivers to big tide races off bold headlands... so there is something for everyone.

You can keep an eye on the local weather from my weather station which is situated on a rock in the bay...https://www.windfinder.com/report/fleet ... lway-firth

I hope everyone has a great season in 2018.

I would like to do some Sibbing around The Menai Straits and Anglesey areas. I've spent a couple of days ribbing over there a couple of years ago, but I don't know the best locations for launching and using sibs. Do we have any north Wales locals on here that know the area?

Hi Douglas.
I'll try and give you a holler this year.
Do a bit of fishing out of Isle of Whithorn and Port Logan as well as in Luce Bay.
Not been around your neck of the woods in over 5 years so hopefully I'll reacquaint myself this year.
Cheers :drive

My thinking is that if we can create a list on here of trips people want to do, we can then find people in those areas with local knowledge to organise them.

I'm thinking big here, not just south coast, but all over the UK, and much further afield, as this is a truly International group.

So come on guys (and girls), get your thinking caps on. Where do you want to visit in your boats in 2018.
I'd love an East coast jolly with visiting members joining in. Montrose to Stonehaven or if wind not favourable a run up the Tay from Broughty Ferry to Perth. Slip and pontoon to use at end and a short stroll to get coffee and food.

Hi Warder. I seen you're trip up the Tay on the video you posted. Looked top notch I'd definitely drive over to the East Coast for a meet up and a day out in the Sibs. Just need to set a date :drive :cheers

Hi Kaman. That would be great, unlikely to be this Month though, getting our new caravan next week and have lots of work to do on our drive (500 m long) and kitting out the caravan etc. Finding a calm day would be good too, our return trip last time was very lumpy. A plan that has us returning around high slack water would make it an easier ride.

Hi Kaman, it would be good to meet up. If you have not been to Wigtown Bay for a while there is a new slipway at Garlieston.

Unfortunately it is only usable 2 hours either side of HW as the harbour bottom is deep glutinous mud.

I will also give you a shout the next time we kayak out to Ailsa Craig. Maybe we could meet you out there with the Good Gurnard?

Douglas :)

Sure thing Douglas.
I've launched at Auchenlairie a few times when my mates mum had her static there.
I've fancied taking the tin tent to Garlieston for a while so this might be the year.
I love a jaunt over to the Craig only managed the once last year
I've ordered up a life jacket for my wee cocker spaniel pup.
I'm gonna try her water legs on Loch Doon in the coming months.
We'll see how she does might take her out on the brine.
As I say I'm up for anything if I am able to manage along I'll be there.
Drop me a P.M or post it up in events.
Looking forward to 2018 :drive

Defo sumthin different on the East Coast would be grand.
