How much is it worth?

Postby James » Mon Oct 23, 2017 8:34 pm

Hi

Pete needs to sell his boat. Those of you who saw it in Scotland, how much do you think it's worth?

Just the hull and trailer. No engine or console

Avon 310 Rib. Seems quite an old boat, but not sure as there Is no plate on the trasome

Do you think it would go better if it just had a tiller engine on it?

Thanks

James

Really good nick with a 9hp £2500 on appoloduck, tbh I’d probably only go £500 max maybe 650 if it was cleaned up .... and that would depend on the trailer probably not what you wanted to hear soz

I know someone who may just want the boat and trailer but nothing else.

I totally agree.
The tubes hold air and there are no leaks. They just need a good clean. The engine and console need ripping off so it can be controlled by a tiller.

If I stuck my 15 HP engine on it, do you think the boat will perform better if everything was gutted from the boat?

James
They're a heavy hull to begin with but yes it'll perform better with the console removed with a 15hp.
Because of the weight you're looking at 15- 20hp to make it perform :|

Neil H has a similar boat and chose to bring his lighter sib to the WWA because of this reason (I think) .... with it being either on of off the plane with the given OB power, with nothing in-between
Perhaps Neil maybe the best to advise you or give you some guidance

My 3.4m Avon goes faster with the 15 on it than the Aerotec 420 does Paul!! If I remember rightly, but the launch wheels are a bit knackered after my maiden outing and a bit of a pain. I had been planning to use the 15 on the Avon if the 25 on the Aerotec didn't work, but time was of the essence on the Friday swapping over, and never bothered after that, as the Avon is a heavy beast

James, I'd be interested in the console and steering possibly if that's available separately

Hi

He paid £850 for the boat, engine and console/throttle.

It looks like he sold the boat and trailer for £400 leaving the engine, console and remote controls. I'll grab a photo of the console on Wednesday.

Pete is so gutted it's gotta go. I felt so sorry for him.
