Looking good Jim.
Cracking Sibs and I'm sure once you get out you'll be well and truly hooked - pardon the pun.
Interested to know if she will plane.
I'm thinking if your built like me probably not, but if your a Mo Farah type probably yes

:welcome . I am fairly new here myself. I have come from a kayak fishing back ground. Its a lot more comfortable in a sib and just as quick to get on the water when every thing is sorted the way you want. I have just got to throw tackle bag in the truck hitch up and go,no struggling to get kayaks on the roof rack. Lovely for plugging, drift in to the shallows with engine ticking over after the bass, then repeat.

Hi Jim and welcome, :welcome, been here myself about 6 months or so.... brilliant forum / group. There's never a stupid question so ask away, I have learnt so much since joining. With regards to your boat you have a very similar boat and the same / similar equipment as me which will do you proud. :D I do feel you will need a bigger motor to experience the ability of your boat, but you have to get on the ladder somewhere and it'll be a whole lot more fun and faster than a kayak. Enjoy :drive
I'm not really a Hobbit, just look like one. Real name is "Andy".

Thanks all, we went out in Plymouth yesterday from the mountbatten slip, we just went around the harbour and out to see a bit as it was pretty choppy!, but we loved it and all went well :) , on thursday we went out from exmouth and round to ladram bay and back about 7 miles each way! was great and caught loads of mackerel !! The 6hp mariner is spot on but im tempted to take it back and trade for a 9.9!!

Hi Jim
Did you manage to get the Sib to plane with the 6hp?
Reason I ask is my old man bought a Tohatsu 3.5m air mat sib and he's got a 6hp Yamaha amongst numerous other outboards in his garage :thud
Think he was going to put the Yamaha on it.
He's not bothered too much about speed just something to go out fishing with.
