Hi Phil and :welcome

You have exactly the same set up as me! Boat, motor, pump...

Enjoy - it definitely goes well with the 20 on!

:cheers

Steve,

How did you adjust position of the Suzuki 20 on the T38.
Any tips welcomed.
Boat has arrived going to set up and check, pick up serviced engine this afternoon, pity the weather has changed for the worse so will have to wait to take it out.

Engine is ready , yea , and no surprises. My Suzuki guy has talked to Suzuki and can reinstate warranty as well, even though it wasn't serviced after 3 months.

Got outboard back today, its only done 5 hrs never been revved more than 1/2 way, so still needs babying for another 5 hours.
Engine service cost me £104 at Aquatec , Lancing. :D

Phil, you've had a true bargain there!

The trim positions are still a bit of a mystery, but think I have it more or less right set to the second hole (I.e. One out from the transom, if that makes sense)...

I have run the engine in now and wasn't getting anywhere near the recommended rpm range. Took the prop off and found it was a 12 inch which gave us around 5000 rpm. Swapped to a 10 inch prop and now get around 5800 rpm. Motor sounds much sweeter and the boat is a bit faster too.

I ended up paying £116 for the first service in Edinburgh. They'd not reset the 20 hour warning light, but three short clicks on the stop button while the engine is running reset that.

N.b. We are two up with fuel and kit up front; so not very light!

Hope you have fun with your T38. Have to say I'm enjoying ours and have discovered a passion for fishing that I didn't know I had!
