Airborne RIB Pilot joining your ranks

Postby FERRYSEA » 06 Jun 2017, 18:33

Thank you for allowing me to join your Group ;-)
I am probably a Strange Member to have amongst your Ranks....... I actually own the Only Legal FIB in the UK ( FIB meaning Flying Inflatable Boat ) So I differ from you guys where I only have a 64hp engine powering a Propeller above the waterline ;-)

At the moment I hold the sole rights to bringing in other examples ( I hold the Airworthiness documentation for the UK ) I am keen to see others within the UK so I am not possessive about the Paperwork, if anyone is seriously interested in this as a business venture or even as ONE OFF'S I would be keen to talk to anyone.

Hi Ferrysea and :welcome to the forum.

I note you're in Auld Reekie - does that mean there's a chance of me seeing you on the Forth from over on the Fife side?

Look forward to looking up and seeing you sometime :thumbsup

I asked ferrysea to join us after seeing his post on rhibs Facebook group.

Thanks for joining & a huge Welcome aboard. :clappy

We've seen many images of this machine on the web but had no idea who owned/flew them.
Really looking forward to hearing and seeing more of them.
I recon Arcusflyer will be delighted to see this FIB.

Hi Ferrysea and :welcome to the forum

I usually say that everyone on here is willing to exchange ideas and their boating experiences :chat however I think you may well be 'out on your own' with this particular boating activity :o
I've seen many images and watched the Youtube videos about them over the years 8-)
It'll be interesting to hear more about the FIB and your adventures with it :thumbsup
Welcome aboard mate ....... or should I say "onwards and upwards"
:cheers

At this time I may well be considered as One of a kind...... however I would really prefer to be 'One of the many' who enjoy the best of Watersports & Airsports.

From the responses tonight I am wondering whether setting up a THREAD for everyone to Discuss the FIB Marketplace is the way forward?

Stay Safe
Peter.

Ferrysea so many questions. As a current Boeing 747 Cargo pilot you have managed to combine both of my passions. Not sure what rules you have over there on the other side of the pond, but I would imagine you would need atleast a sport pilot license to fly that. Also what kind of altutude are you flying that at. Anyways, sure looks like a blast.
