Mine is about 3 years old and hardly used. I took it apart this morning and its as clean as a whistle in the chamber and no damage to the rubber gate and I could see the magnet inside. THE INTERESTING BIT, maybe for some, the same happens without the hose even connected. At various pressures including the lowest, it starts on second stage every time. I even read the instructions too.
I'm not really a Hobbit, just look like one. Real name is "Andy".

Hi,

I have the same,

1st noise is a normal fan, 2nd noise is a little compressor that kicks in once the fan can't cope with the 0.8 bar...

Hope this helps

I've just got one of these pumps too. Not sure why it has the two types of pumping as it jumps to the second stage (louder) pumping after only a few seconds?? I thought it was supposed to turbo pump the chambers quickly then flick over to the noisy pump when close to full pressure to top up?

Wish I'd bought the cheaper single pump version now as that's all I seem to get!!

Hi, Speedo

Did you see Martin's earlier post in this thread about correctly adjusting the screw on the Halkey-Roberts adaptor?

Worth checking if that's the problem, causing early resistance due to the valve stem not being pushed in.

Hi, I didn't see that, but I'll check that now.

I hoped it might be something like that.

Thanks
