A quick video of my Bravo BTP12 in operation ..... you can hear the pumps change of note at 10 seconds when it switches from high volume to high pressure.

I walked through the door marked 'EXIT' and life is now good!

Inflated the fun frigate over the weekend using the same pump. I believe it is going straight to "second stage" right from the start. However it does inflate it very quickly so I'm not really bothered. Turned it off and turned it on again but did the same. The video posted above (thanks for that) confirms mine is starting on second stage. :party

I'd double check your valves are opening correctly when you push the bayonet in buddy, adjust the inner screw to open them correctly.
If all is well there, then I'd send it back ...
1st stage high volume/low pressure
2nd stage low volume high pressure.

my guess would be your pump is never going in low pressure stage. Its starts out in the pulsating high pressure stage. Low stage does not pulsate and is quiet steady air. High stage pulsates and is very hard to even have a conversasion if you standing next to it. You might want to warranty it out.

I don't know if it's the same with your Bravo as mine, but my digital Bravo had an intermittent fault that was caused by a small magnetic switch inside the air chamber.
As i remember it was easy to get to and once cleaned the pump was fine again.

This just came back to me so i thought i would mention it...

Right, here we go....
I just took the back off mine to show you what i mean.
First remove the four long screws to remove the back of the pump.
there is no need to remove the two short screws that are the cable clip.

With the back to one side you will see the air chamber with a small cover and 2 screws.

Remove the 2 screws and the cover to reveal a magnetic switch.
It's a small rubber gate with a magnet in it which operates the second stage of the pump.

check that the rubber gate is not damaged, dirty or obstructed.

Sorry it took so long for the old grey cells to remember this
When i got my boat the pump came with it, and it was one of the many little jobs i had to do and it slipped my mind.......

Thanks Andy B, excellent info I'll investigate that at the weekend.

Great info from Andy, but before you pull it in bits and void your warranty (if bought new) I'd double check the pipe end that you insert into the inflation valve.
If you've bought the same as we've all bought you'll find a little pozzi screw inside the bayonet, you can screw that in and out to get the correct length to open the inflation valve when you insert the bayonet in the valve.
If the valve isn't opening enough you'll maybe get a false reading to the pump that may switch it to high pressure immediately.
I've no images to show you, sorry...
perhaps one of the other guys sat at a Comp can assist. :thumbsup
