Suggestion: F-RIBSANDSIBS.COM introduction card

:wavey

I had another wee jaunt along the Thames yesterday (accompanied by Mrs B who was distinctly underwhelmed but that's another story!).

Whilst I was packing up, a couple of gents arrived at the slipway in a shiny new Honwave* + 15 HP Honda 4 stroke, which they recovered to a trailer and Ford Ranger that was parked up nearby.

I got chatting to them and it transpired they'd only taken delivery of the boat yesterday, having previously been "darksiders"!.
I mentioned our forum, which they were interested in, but of course none of us had pen and paper handy so it'll be down to them remembering or searching for the forum.

It occurred to me that it would be a good idea to have some little cards with the URL and brief details of what the forum is about, that we could keep in our packs and hand out to fellow SIBbers whilst out and about. I have the means to print them and can even laminate them to make them water-resistant, so I wondered whether these could be designed and posted on the forum in jpeg or pdf form so we could print them off? I could of course produce simple cards myself with just the relevant info but since it would be the first introduction to the forum I thought something of a better looking design than I could throw together would be more impressive.

* It threw me as to what model it was, as it seemed identical in size to my T32 airfloor but it had two seats. Turned out it WAS a T32 and he had got the supplier to fit an extra seat for him. This was what got me to mentioning the forum since he could have saved himself quite a bit by following the current thread on just this subject.

:cheers
cheers
Roger

I think it's a great idea. Way back, when I had my own DIY home improvement forum, any time I was out in public, I'd leave cards behind with the URL on it any place I visited. Could tell an uptick in visitors anytime I did that.
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

It's great that you guys push the forum in the way you do, Thankyou !!! :IANW

I did do a design on my old pc some time ago and asked on the forum (lord knows where the thread is) if anyone was or knew a printer...
It was an A5 sheet folded into three - Intention being double side printed.
I found after printing one, the flyer drank the ink from my printer so that's where the "print person" question came apparent.

It was nothing spectacular and probably didn't warrant spending on anyway, but it was a bit of something. :pump

:thumbsup I agree completely guys, it's something we need and something that would certainly bring the crowds in. Is there anyone on the forum that can help with such design and print?
My time is very limited and my capabilities even less so :shame
If anyone fancies having a go that would be superb, if we get a few ideas we can possibly mix and match...

:thumbsup I think it's great!, very professional.
BUT... maybe too good. It could attract everyone to get into sibs/ribs and as it becomes more popular slipway prices etc will rise insurance will go up and rules will change and the fun is gone!

Where did you go on the Thames this time Roger? was it Hurley again or somewhere else.
Still looking at Poole soon, just haven't had time for boating lately!

Haha.. cheers.
These are literally for the f-rib dealers and such.
General cheap and easy printouts for you guys to share as you seem fit will follow shortly.

TBH... I'm thinking just just the right hand section of the top page as a single handout... what do you guys think ?
