Fishing for Mahe Mahe on my wife's uncle's boat when this Omani navy ship left Salahla dock last year.
He could tell me it was heading towards Yemen to keep a watchful eye on shipping heading into Omani waters.
Apparently they shot first and ask questions later when dealing with Somalian Pirates.
Legend also has it that any survivors get to go swimming with a large block of mortar tied to their ankles :o

"Hah Harrr Jim Lad...."

Meets all the criteria taken from own boat, interesting craft (bet it has big amp/speakers!) nicely positioned in the Golden Segment. :)

Yikes and you got that close!!! How many rounds per minute do you think their Gattling gun fires?

Douglas - I never chose to get that close to the Naval Ship.
It simply sailed past us whilst we were fishing.
The Arab states set a good standard in crime prevention in my eyes.
You break the law - your dead meat.
Needless to say there are not to many people in jail burdening the tax payer.
An example that the ECHR should look at for inspiration.

Nice on Dublinpup3, one of the guys here on the Solway has a Sealegs, it really is an incredible creation. He drives it 1.1km on a private estate road from his holiday lodge 9where he keeps it) to where there is a sandy beach with a gentle gradient down into the sea. It is beautifully engineered solution to handling a boat ashore. He is head of an investment company that specialises in Venture Capital Trusts, the first time he came here, he arrived by helicopter. That tells you how much of a wodge you need to run one! My late uncle, who was boat daft, looked at getting one in his eighties, when he could no longer handle a boat ashore. A few years ago even a 10 year old one was about 50K.

Never heard of anything like this sea leg. I honestly thought someone just had some serious talent in mechanics. Douglas you are correct I googled the company and the cheapest I could find was a 150K. Guess I will being keeping that FRIB for awhile.

Remember that wrecks make great photos. They have a number of advantages as subjects, they tend not to move much and also are not so likely to fire at you, if you get too close, like some of the other subjects above....

Here is another idea for a photo.. a lifeboat.

20170820-P8200189DEW.jpg

This was the RNLI Kirkcudbright Inshore Atlantic 85 "Sheila Stenhouse" yesterday. The crew were searching the shoreline of Fleet Bay for a missing kayaker after a Sit on Top had been found drifting in the bay. Fortunately, the oblivious owner was later found on land, completely unaware that the tide had come in and carried off his SoT.
