For first time beach launching, yes. Nowt like an extra pair of hands if there's a bit of swell, but if you're confident, and competent it's up to you.
Looking at the long range forecast it doesn't look good, but that can all change. Best bet if you want a meet up is to pick somewhere like Ullswater, but come here if the weather allows.

The only problem with ullswater is that there is a 10mph speed limit.

Appreciated Stray...My SIB won't go anywhere with two plus gear, and I'll not fit in another plus gear :D

Only from speaking to a lad who fishes there regular...

5 Bar Gate has a slip in to soft shingle, so he takes the boat down and then carries the OB and rest of the gear, and there's a lot of beach if the tides out.
Parking is very good.

Gynn Wall...You need a license apparently to park here, so you have to drop your gear off and then find somewhere to park. I think he said the tide doesn't
go as far out here though.

There is a Water Sports club with a slip, but it's £90.00 pa membership. I thought it might be worth joining as they have private parking and all the facilities.
But I think it might be a bit far off the same fishing grounds as 5 Bar which is where most fish from.
