Thanks everyone for a good day out.
My passengers loved it. The bigger the wave, the faster we went, the more my brother enjoyed it.
It's nice taking passengers out and seeing they are enjoying the experience.

I have to say, on the way to the IoW I was wondering if 25 Litres was enough fuel for the whole trip. I had two passengers and a lot of weight that I've never carried before.

On the way to the IoW I was mainly sitting on WOT and not going very fast. I was struggling to keep up with the other boats. I was also taking in more water than normal. I'm not sure if I was taking it from the front or the back of the boat.

Once At the IoW I trimmed the engine down to the lowest setting and the boat performed much better. I also took in less water. I still found if I applied WOT the prop would loose grip, so I had to get to WOT by slowly increasing the revs. The boat was fast enough, but I am sure my top speed can't have been anything like it is when I am by myself.

The seats on the F-rib are a nightmare. Both seats slid all the way back and I kept finding my leg trapped in between them with the weight of the passengers. I will be doing Paul's mod on them to help stop them sliding.

Considering the weight, the mileage and I was mainly on WOT I used 20Litres of fuel. This is the hardest the engine has ever worked.

I did however have a problem with my eyes. I don't exactly know what but they starting stinging, getting watery and the sunlight made them hurt. It got to the point by the time I got home I couldn't open them in sun light. I didn't wear sunglasses and Lauren says you can get UV rays off the water. I woke up this morning and they seemed better.

Looks and sounds like you guys had a real good trip out, lucky buggers as the weather up ere in Oban was phish all day it rained :no The reflection of the water will have caused the sore eyes, best wearing a decent pair of sunglasses in them conditions, even when there is no real sun the uv glare of the water hurts my eyes if I don't wear my shades

Yep a really great day out - the best and longest for me yet! Great feedback James and I make you right about your passengers all I could see all day were there beaming smiles...the higher you flew the wider their smiles :)
Defo agree with you re the Frib seats they are really hard work!
I had stinging eyes also but think it was a combination of sun tan lotion, salt spray and about 6 Cobras the night before.
Great to meet everyone also and as always a massive shout out to Paul for logistics and for keeping an eye out for me...H

I couldn't believe how much my brother loved it. I took him out once before in the winter months and he hated it. He was cold and wet :D

He wants to go out again in 2 weeks once Wimbledon has finished.

He asked if it's possible to go to the IoW on a Saturday, sleep over and then come back Sunday. I'm not sure what's involved with a trip like that.

You used to be able to camp on the beach in whitecliff bay, not sure if you still can?

I will have to look in to it. It's something I wouldn't mind doing.
For sea conditions, is the most dangerous and unpredictable part the Needles?
What's the South of the IoW like? So if we left Chichester and went to the bottom of IoW, is that classed as a stupid thing to think about?

Did anyone have to pay to launch? If so, what was the cost?
I saw the ticket lady, quickly said bye and headed off :-)

Well if you are going to whitecliff bay via the Needles you're defiantly going to need the whole weekend ;-)
Seriously though, the back of the island is a little sparse. Apart from Ventnor there's not much round there.
The southeastern side is OK for sibs with Bembridge, a couple of bays and then Sandown and Shanklin.
But be warned the tide goes out a long way and the beach approaches are shallow.

That wasn't the "Ticket Lady" that was the HM handing out a notification of prosecution for speeding within the harbour to a couple of jetski's :o
