Also, Make sure you have £4 coins. Last time I went to Chichester I had to pay to launch.
The price also includes a tow home should your engine fail.

I don't mind a passenger.

Be interesting to see how the Honwave goes 2 up!

Plans sound good to me Paul.

I won't book any works for that day.

Cheers. I should be OK with 3 adults, but I don't really know until I try lol.

My brother wants to try out my boat at sea. He's only ever been in a river so has not experienced waves yet lol

His friend Lauren has never been on a Sib/Rib before and is dying to have a go.

I like Chichester, the inland water and sea so I am happy to go there. I guess we just need a time to meet up. Can't leave it too late otherwise it may be packed.

Just watch out for chichester entrance with the tide ebbing and a southerly wind. The waves over the bar can get interesting in that scenario.

Hope to get to this. no promises, but won't plan a business trip to Sofia, so at least that won't get in the way

I'd be there early to miss the traffic.

Earlier is better!

Indeed mate but let's be mindful of those travelling from afar and not put them off attending ;-)
Those getting there early can always turn right/up river and go exploring whilst the rest are arriving/setting up

Soooo guy's and girls on to logistics :|

IF we are lucky with the weather Gods we may be able to cover everyone's 'wish list'

9th July (click image to expand)

Using the image in a clockwise route ....... Leave launch site, visit a Fort, land on Isle of Wight, visit another Fort, enter Portsmouth Harbour, traverse through the canal route between Portsmouth to Langstone Harbour and on to Chichester Harbour back to port
High water is at 12.35pm and those that have traversed the canals will know 'time is of the essence ' :!:
It's exciting stuff keeping to a timescale but don't let it put you off ......... but we need to be in the right place at the right time ;-)

I'd reckon that an ideal launch/set off time would be 9am .... 10am at the very latest :!: for a clockwise route so we arrive at the lowest canal bridge (railway bridge for those that have been before) as the water is receding at around 12.35-13.00pm
It'll be tight time wise and we'll have to get a 'hustle on' to remain within the timescale but it's doable

What's everyones thoughts :?: and please chime in, especially those traveling long distances to attend :thumbsup

Come what may we'll have a 'cracking day' wherever we go :thumbsup

Weather forecasts look promising :whistle

Sounds spot on for me. Thanks for doing the planning work, much appreciated!.

I am leaving Gatwick area at 7am
I will take 25L of Fuel. I may even play safe and take 30L
I will have 2 passengers on-board, I don't think the Johnson will have an issue with this but just in case I may need a hand carrying one. I have done two before without issues.
I've just finished fitting my new prop and removed my Hydrofoils.
I even have a new seat, however since I have passengers I will probably sit on the tubes / bench.

Exciting, I can't wait :-)

James
Don't go mad with the fuel mate ......... if you view the passage plan it's 39 miles and even with detours/diversions won't be anymore than 45 miles max

Hi All I will leave SW London at around 630 to give me enough time to get the boat sorted and be ready for about 9ish. Looks like a great route can't wait!
Might be me and my brother or just me. Either way I can take another person if anyone needs a boat.
Roll on the weekend...H
