'Wild West Adventure' 2017

The Scottish ‘Wild West Adventure’ 2017

As in previous years, myself, The Gurnard and Martin have booked up for our annual return to Oban, Scotland to see Paul B and do our ‘Wild West Adventure'.

The invitation to join us last year and the ‘complications’ encountered was somewhat ‘unpleasant’ but I’ve hopefully learnt by it so I’m willing to give it another go.

Format
The ‘Adventure’ with a wild camp overnight on the Saturday will take place over the weekend of Saturday 9th /10th September 2017. Departure time is 10.00am Saturday 9th SHARP! with us returning to port on the Sunday approximately 16.00pm.
We have built up a great relationship with our hosts at Oban over the years so we wish to protect it, therefore a self-imposed limit of 12 boats/persons maximum (+2 on last year) residing at Oban is applied thus leaving an invitation of 8 further boats/persons to join us on our ‘Adventure’. This limit also takes into consideration the requirement to meet the Scottish wild camping laws and how we abide by them.
We intend to travel a coastal route with a planned 'wild camp' on a deserted island overnight.
If the weather conditions prevent these plans on the day we will enter a sea Loch to 'hide in’ and have our Saturday overnight 'wild camp' there.

Location and Info’
The Oban site, location, accommodation and slipway are proven to be fantastic and a ‘no brainer’ over the years. Also because of distances travelled the format has been to arrive on the Thursday afternoon, have a meet and greet Thursday evening, Friday is a shakedown day for the group with a local trip out exploring and then the ‘Adventure’ begins Saturday. The 8 places can be accommodated with 4 nights in two 4 berth static caravans at a current cost of £20 per night per person, (accommodation needs to be booked/organised/paid for by each group via a ‘nominee’ per caravan and would advise the ‘nominee’ collects 50% of the fee ‘up front’ to ensure their fellow participants good intentions) this includes accommodation in a modern fully equipped static caravan, secure on-site parking and slipway usage/trailer parking.
Places reserved on a ‘first come’ basis, with the ‘nominee’ receiving your ‘up front’ payment to secure your place within a specified time set by the ‘nominee’ (1-2 weeks usually) otherwise you relinquish your place to a reserve.

Note
This is not an official or organised event by F-RibsandSibs. Being friends we planned doing this trip again last year, however as other forum members have again expressed an interest in joining us an invitation is open to our fellow registered forum members at the time of its announcement.

Please respect that this is a 'SIBbing' based cruise in company and large vessels are therefore unfortunately excluded; so please ask if you are unsure if your vessel qualifies.

Yup, we'll do that Neil, :cheers

Myself and Paul will be around to answer any questions, we'll keep the list updated so as to show the remaining places available.
At some point, you guys will have to decide who's going to take charge of each caravan booking, so if you're happy to do a booking, please state that when you list your intention of joining the WWA 2017
