SafeTrx now replaces the CG66 scheme

Post by chris moody » 04 Jul 2018, 08:31

The RYA SafeTrx app has now replaced the Coastguard CG66 scheme. I would urge everyone to download the app and fill out your vessel details.

If apps aren't your thing, then you can register your vessel at but you will not get the real time logging of your passage (which the Coastguard will access if your shoreside contact reports you as missing to find your exact last known position).

Thanks for the link, looks like a great backup to my VHF-DSC hand held.
Filled it out as best I can but there's not a SIB category, so am I to pretend to be a RIB with a polyester chined hull???
