Christchurch River 3 July Lodestar 290& Yam9.9

Post by PeterM » 03 Jul 2018, 11:53

Managed to get a few hours when it was a bit cooler and got on the river today . First time with this combo.

Have to say really really impressed by the Yam 9.9 super smooth and super silent and still good power delivery compared to my old 2 stroke. Much smoother power curve for a small sib.

Awesome place for a little SIB - very happy with the set up now - about 1.5 hours on the water and used next to nothing in fuel.

May look at glueing some fins on the bottom to help the straight line tracking ...

Looks like you had a great time. Christchurch is one of my favourite places for pottering around, it’s just so beautiful!
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

It's like a right of passage... everyone must do it at least once a year....

Looks like that's Pentewan?
Is the picture of the ramp the one at MeV or did you use the tractor at Pent?
Would love to know how far you went out - across to Fowey or Polkerris.
Not there until May 2019 - first time taking a boat so would be good info for me.
Thanks :cheers

Yep. Video is pentewan. Last few years we've been really lucky with weather. Fowey and looe. Out to the eddystone even down to lizard point.

Launched off the beach by tractor. 25 quid a time but well worth it. Trying to get back in a few weeks again. Lovely place to camp and boat...
