All received and checked out so may try the Garmin 45DV out of Shoreham early tomorrow morning, there's a number of inshore wrecks that we want to take a look at and two that are less than 1/2 mile off shore, charts say they are exposed wrecks so might see something or not.

I've got the 45dv, it's a superb chart plotter / fish finder.

It looked the best value its now the 45CV but been told there is no difference but price has gone up.

Got it temporarily mounted on a piece of ply wood that I'm going to bungee to the front seat, battery is in a Tupperware box, have the metal transducer bar I'm going to hang off the back transom outside the transom wheels away from the prop.

Went out on Sunday off Shoreham to test the Garmin 45DV and GT20-TM worked well,
I used a adjustable transducer bracket from http://www.thetackle-shop.co.uk/section ... ith-5.html ( thanks Paul)
and had the transducer between the transom wheel and side tube at the rear, there was a little surface noise but good depth vision.
Used the chart plotter to take us out to two inshore wrecks off Brighton Pier that show on the map in this link;
http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.co ... 86/-0.2033
This is the same map as the G2 Map on the Garmin with all the same level of detail.

We could clearly see structure on the sea floor and over one was a ball of fish mid-water.
Gota learn how to save images onto the memory card so I can post.

May decide to mount it off the side tube mount to see if I can get a better surface image.
