Forgot about this bit

Post by MCL » 14 Apr 2018, 08:15

Sorry forgot to introduce myself. I'm mark 32, we have a 2015 zodiac fastroller 325 and a 2nd hand 2015 Yamaha 8hp enduro 2 stroke which was a grey import from the Caribbean, alass I didn't get to collect it myself.

We have just returned from a 2 week tour in our campervan of Devon and Cornwall and we took the boat out at our usual favourites (Salcombe, Dartmouth, Padstowe).

We normally go out with myself, wife, daughter and dog. The little 8hp doesnt get all of us on the plane max speed is about 9mph but when I take it out on my own it pushes me along upto 16mph which is great fun and alows me to see so much more of the coast. Hence I'm after a bigger motor, 10hp is the maximum rating for the zodiac but I'm trying to think of future boats and maybe a 15hp 2s would be more sensible although it of headache with the current boat.

I like the frib and would love one but there is no way the bank balance would allow it!

Interesting engine, never seen one of those before....
Normally by the time you get up to 8hp the exhaust is through prop not the cav plate...

Yeh it's based an a really old yam / mariner. It's a really compact, lightweight unit. It's marketed as an engine where servicing might be difficult (3rd world situations) so has beefed up / high durable intenernals. I guess it's a plus point although I don't mind keeping up with regular servicing.

Hi again MCL, boat looks great buddy. :clappy
I’ll download those images and replace them to the forum for you as Tapatalk doesn’t display images on mobile devices correctly on the forum.
If you could refrain from posting images via Tapatalk please buddy as it causes the admin team more work :shame

The Tapatalk app will be disappearing as we move across to our new website and software so we’d advise using the forum directly from your device please :thumbsup
