Finally done the drawbar extension, after Pete visited last week and brought the new piece with him, :cheers

Nice neat job, no extra holes drilled into the original bar, just had to cut off the manufacturers weight plate as the rivets stopped the new bar sliding up inside, 3 m10 bolts securing it in place so it’s nice and sturdy

Have you measured the nose weight when it’s fully loaded ?

Nose weight isn’t an issue, the whole set up at best weighs around 250kg

The trailer weight is 100kg
Boat approx 50kg
Engine 45kg if on transom ,
Fuel 12kg max

And in theory I’ve increased the nose weight by lengthening the drawbar and having the longer boat further forward on the trailer, plus towing with a Navara I will never get it close to the nose weight of the truck

I wasn't thinking too much nose weight....I was thinking too little and might be a bit unstable, I doubt your motor would even notice it towing it.

Yes. I realised you didn’t mean too much Ross I don’t think I could never get it to be too much, It will have actually increased due to lengthening the pivot point, so even though it towed fine with the T32 on it before, I would think it should be slightly better as the boat is further forward as well, and yes the motor doesn’t even know it’s attached

Just measured it and it’s roughly 40 inch from winch post to coupling, so it might be a tad long, however I will leave it as it is and try it out, if it’s a problem, it’s a simple fix to redrill a few holes in the extension and slide it further inside the old drawbar
I’d original increased it by 700mm as the boat was an extra 600mm and wanted a little bit more for adjustability

EDIT. Correction. Just been looking at the original sketches and I’d planned on extending by 700mm but decided to only increase the drawbar by 600mm in the end,
