Just gauging interest 2 x 2strokes and old sib

Post by Si Crowe » 11 Jan 2018, 12:08

over the weekend i'm going to be taking photos and putting up a for sale on here but i wanted to get an idea if people would be interested in...

a yamaha 2 hp 2 stroke short shaft outboard in near mint condition less than 10kg weight

a suzuki 4 hp 2 stroke short shaft outboard in scruffy but mechanically sound condition less than 20kg integral fuel tank

and an older Compass Kudos inflatable built in hypalon (not pvc) with oars in good nick with no patches. red tubes.

like i say, i'll put up photos in proper adds next week once ive taken photos and pricing to be established but will be cheap... as long as i can cover the cost (near enough) of the 5hp i've just bought...

both engines would make good Aux engines on a bigger sib or on their own as tender propulsion.

I would sell the sib and either engine as a package too.... :D :D

if no interest fleabay it will be.... :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
If it has t*ts, tyres or floats......it's gonna cost ya!

The market for OB's is starting to move.
I've started to get interest in some of mine, although no money or OB's have actually changed hands yet

Those direct drive Yam 2's tend to sell in the region of £125<£175 If like you say yours is in near mint condition i'd definitely be aiming for the high end of that, maybe even a little more.
I think these guys guy is being a little "adventurous" with their prices but worth watching to see if they sell.

As for the Zuk? £250<£300 possibly a little more???

The Sib is anyone's guess....
Probably not much though, if it's sub 3m then £100<£150.

Don't think there's much money in it to put together a package although the SIB with the 4hp could sell for £400<£450.

If it was me i'd wack u'm on Gumtree, at least that way you're not paying to sell them.
Facebook pages are full of messers and dreamers, Ebay is just highway robbery these days!!!

I've never really used Gumtree, like ever... do you find it a good place to sell?

I've searched for stuff before on there and given up. I've found it, awkward if that makes sense.

if i can get £450 for the lot id be happy as that's what the 5hp mariner has just cost me.

Yeah, I used to be the same.
I only started using it after last year when it cost me nearly £70 to sell an outboard on eBay!
(Listing fee's and a final value fee @10%)
If all you want to do is cover the money on your new OB then stick it on Gumtree as a package,
2 outboard and a SIB for £500 Is bound to get someone's attention.

If you do this though be sure to untick the map button as it will drop a pin right on your house mate!

Personally I'd advertise the inflatable and 4hp as a package for £450, that's a really cheap way of getting out on the water for whoever buys it.

Then advertise the mint 2hp separately, it's an ideal tender engine, or aux engine for a F-Rib / Sib / very small rib. Whatever you get for that is then a bonus and extra fuel tokens for "Desperate".

I'd stick both in the "for sale" section on here.

Hi Si,
I'm interested in the 2hp 2 stroke as an aux. How much do you want for it? P.M. me please Cliff. As for Gumtree, your market is severely limited, best to use Ebay, probably 50 times more people will check that out first, and add on the 10% fee. just my personal opinion from years of ebaying, for what it's worth :whistle
96% of people are basically good, it's the 4% that f*ck up the world
