Also added a bow cover today and found a new use for my kayak c-tug wheels!

Did you manage to get the Sib to plane with the 6hp?
Reason I ask is my old man bought a Tohatsu 3.5m air mat sib and he's got a 6hp Yamaha amongst numerous other outboards in his garage :thud
Think he was going to put the Yamaha on it.
He's not bothered too much about speed just something to go out fishing with.
See the vid above!! It was close a few times and prob would with just one in it, top speed was 11mph!!!
Hard to tell from the video Jim but I'd say it was just on the 'cusp' of planeing :|
It's all about weight distribution ........ including you and your crew using your weight to achieve it ;-)
With you both towards the stern, approx 1/3rd way, you then see-saw or rock your weight together forward and backward it might just assist the hull to climb the wave and achieve the plane :|
Next time out give it a trial
:cheers

Well I wasn't happy with the 6hp on it so its going back later today and were swapping for a mercury 9.9hp :cheers that should do it!! The 6hp is still a great engine and ran like a top all day but just missing the grunt im after!.

The 9 will be plenty alone and enough with 2 for sure. Im 100% it will plane on your own with that 6 as a mates honwave 3.5 planed easy with 1 with an old 5hp.

May i ask what phone holder is that in the video?

Hi, the phone holder was a cheap £3 suction cup one from our local home bargains!! I just pulled the suction bit of drilled 2 holes and screwed it to the seat!!

Oh and just picked up the new 9.9 :thumbsup
